About Ellen McAliney, PT, DPT, IADN-Cert

Ellen comes from a mixed background of working as an outpatient PT and as a homehealth PT after graduating from Ithaca College with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Throughout the course of her career, she’s had an array of experiences in both private practice and larger regional health systems, treating a multitude of injuries and conditions in patients of all ages. She has a heavy orthopedic background, as well as an extensive background treating pelvic health conditions, chronic pain, neurologic conditions, autoimmune disorders, and cardiac conditions. Along the way, she has had trainings in many various manual therapy techniques, including dry needling, kinesiotaping, myofascial release/nerve and tissue mobilizations. She has years of experience utilizing Pilates based exercise, and Pelvic Health certifications and courses through Herman and Wallace. While utilizing dry needling or combining manual therapy with restorative movements and other neuromuscular retraining skills, her treatment style focuses on combining mind and body health to combat pain, injury, and our body’s stress response.

With Ellen, you will receive a well rounded, holistic approach to your care. She feels fortunate to have spent the majority of her career working one on one with her patients; a luxury in this profession, to be able to collaborate effectively with her patients to deliver quality care and build strong connections with them. She finds joy in the detective work of the job, trying to help solve where things may have gone wrong mechanically, put the puzzle pieces together, and help the body adapt correctly. She is always amazed by the power and potential our bodies have to heal, restore, and grow.

In her spare time, Ellen stays busy hunting for home decor and trying to grow her green thumb, hosting gatherings with family and friends, and enjoys soaking up every fun and precious moment with her husband, toddler, and dog.
